GREEnville ISD BOND ELECTION

On Tuesday, November 4, voters in Greenville ISD will vote on the district’s $399,000,000 bond election.

Why is Greenville ISD having a bond election?

Working with the Board of Trustees, teachers, and administrators from across the district, the Facility Planning Committee developed a list of items to consider for inclusion in a bond package. The District has been evaluating current facilities and equipment, ongoing enrollment, and student programs.

  • Bowie Elementary, Carver Elementary, and Lamar Elementary are currently exceeding 100% of capacity.

New housing construction is driving the majority of growth, adding 200+ students per year. With this growth, 8,207 students are expected to be enrolled in Greenville ISD in the next 10 years.

  • Greenville ISD’s oldest campus is 75 years old, and the average age of district facilities is 50 years old.

The bond encompasses a new High School, repurposing the existing High School into a Middle School, a new L.P. Waters Early Childhood Center, and district-wide additions and renovations across all Elementary campuses.

  • Greenville ISD offers a range of pathways for students, from advanced college prep to career training in health sciences, welding, culinary arts, and more.

The bond package encompasses a new High School, aiming to support these pathways, including Career & Tech classrooms, labs, ag barn, athletic courts, practice fields, and fine arts classrooms with a new auditorium.

Using a comprehensive report by PASA Demographics, Greenville ISD is projected to exceed the district's capacity of 5,972 students in the 2026/27 school year.
